Every X1 unit is individually tested and calibrated to fix any frequency response deviations from material and acoustics. The AI analytical power enables finetuning the X1 with another layer of precision.
Plugin & direct EQ support
Run the USC calibration as a plugin on your laptop or as direct EQ values on any hardware e.g. RME Total Mix, UA Console, MOTU Control, Neumann Monitor Mission and any DSP enabled audio interface or analog EQ strips.
Studio, FOH and car emulations
The USC II plugin features studio, front-of-house (FOH), and car emulations, expertly preset by OLLO and powered by Realphones technology.
Stereo, spatial and Harman targets
The X1 default calibration is optimized for stereo mixing and translation. With just one click, you can switch to spatial audio mixing in binaural mode or use the popular Harman target to cross-check your mix.

Acoustics
- Earpads with outer diameter of 95mm (3.75in), an inner diameter of 57.5mm (2.25in) and a depth of a 20mm (0.8in), +/-2.55mm. Made of artificial leather and velour.
- THD & 2nd <0.05% & <0.02% @ 94 dB SPL @ 1kHz with sweep source measured with IEC 60318-1 ear simulator.
- Variation in frequency response in band from 5Hz to 22kHz ~9.8 dBSPL +/- 1dB SPL using sweep and IEC 60318-1 ear simulator.
- Front-to-back air pressure equalization controlled with Saati flow resistor 3.2Ohms(²)/1cm².
- Ex-centric and angled speaker in a conical radiation chassis with an optimal sound stage for best translation of instrument positions in stereo or immersive formats.
- Frequency response calibrated for best translation of balance and artificially placed objects in stereo or downmixed (binaural) immersive projects.
Headband

USCII Calibration
Calibration is the “final mile” in delivering perfectly flat frequency response. All our headphones are very well tuned out of the box and measured in quality control. By measuring every individual unit we can capture any deviations in sound quality that comes from material tolerances for a specific unit. Calibration fixes these and frequency response beyond what’s possible with acoustic design alone.Unit specific calibration can achieve an incredibly low tolerance of approximately ~1dB to the selected frequency target. For illustration purpose, generic software calibrations like Sonarworks Sound ID or Waves NX can only achieve about ~3dB.Unit Specific Calibration II (USC II) includes a software plugin (powered by Realphones) and a calibration data file generated using the power of AI processing. The plugin comes in AU, VST and AAX format for Mac and Win users and is also available in standalone version. The calibration data file is in XPS format that enables manual export of exact EQ values to any 3rd party EQ plugin or DSP enabled hardware; for example: RME TotalMix, Neumann Mission Control, UA console and others.Calibration includes:
